Yamaha RX-Z9 Digital Home Theater Receiver
Yamaha introduces a new benchmark for home theater receiver performance: the RX-Z9.
This flagship model goes beyond the capabilities of previous high-end Yamaha models with High-definition CINEMA DSP technology, the ability to automatically optimize sound for the listening room, superior audio and video quality, and the operating ease that Yamaha is famous for.
The high end just moved up a step.
The RX-Z9 has all the features a dedicated audiophile could want, and then some!
You get all the benefits of Yamaha's industry-leading CINEMA DSP technology offering 51 surround programs with 71 variations, custom installation compatibility, a wide range of audio and video functions and the user-friendly GUI display that offers an extensive choice of useful menus.
The RX-Z9 employs a wide range of sophisticated technology that results in a home theater receiver that provides the most advanced digital sound and video processing.
YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer)
The RX-Z9 is the world's first receiver to use a parametric equalizer to automatically optimize for room acoustics.
-
Uses a 10-band parametric equalizer to automatically adjust audio output to provide precisely the best sound for the room.
-
Optimizer microphone at the listening position picks up test tones from the speakers which are analyzed.
-
Based on the results, a variety of audio parameters are precisely calibrated to optimize the sound at the listening position.
High Definition CINEMA DSP Technology, Plus THX
Yamaha was able to fit all the High Definition CINEMA DSP circuitry on a single board in its own chamber, for greater efficiency and isolation from possible interference.
-
Six times greater DSP capacity than previous models (double the speed and triple the density).
-
A/D converters increased from 48kHz to 96kHz/24-bit to accept 96kHz analog signals for direct digital conversion and processing.
-
Triple the amount of early reflection data can be handled, for significantly richer surround sound performance.
-
THX post-processing can also be selected.
Faroudja's DCDi Processing
Yamaha's RX-Z9 is the world's first receiver to provide DCDi Processing
-
DCDi processing is selectable and ensures that images are smooth and natural, without staircasing or jaggies.
-
Full Digital Component Video-Up Conversion.
-
Automatically upgrades the input signal (composite to S-video or component, S-Video to component) to the one that the monitor/TV can accept, ensuring highest quality.
-
Composite and S-Video signals pass through the DCDi and Noise Shaped Video circuits before conversion to component video, further improving them.
