Kellen Winslow Foundation College Scholarship (For Minority Students)

Deadline January 31, 2001 Applicable Majors Engineering, Computer-Related Sciences, Law, Sports Medicine Award value $1,000 plus a computer Number of awards 2 Description The KW Foundation supports higher education by awarding two $1,000 scholarships each year. Included with the scholarship award, is a Pentium computer complete with software suite.

Undergraduate Scholarship Program is open to freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors pursing majors in Engineering, Computer-Related Sciences, Law, Sports Medicine, or related fields.

To be eligible for this award, you must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, have a 3.0 GPA, be a U.S. citizen, and be an African-American or other identified minority. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, career goals, recommendations, and extracurricular activities. Recipients in their freshman, sophomore, or junior years may apply for renewal.

An official transcript (high school for freshman, college for all others) will be required. You will be judged on recommendations, an essay (describing your interest in the major you have chosen and what sort of occupation you desire), activities and honors, professional/technical memberships, and applicable work experience. We are looking for those students who are committed to their communities through volunteer service, education, and family involvement.

Applications must be postmarked from May 1 through December 1. Recipients will be notified on or about February 15.
